RIF: 3285: PROCUREMENT SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST

Client:  leading International Pharmaceutical Company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, HQ in Milan

Position: The Procurement Sustainability Specialist will support the Purchasing Projects & New Methodologies and the Category managers in the achieving broader group sustainability targets and act as a key point of reference in the ESG/Sustainability topics in the overall Procurement processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand global Sustainability/ ESG regulations and expectations related to sourcing and how these apply to Recordati sustainability initiatives
  • Contribute to review and integrate the supplier Code of Conduct to ensure that Recordati’s core sustainability values are reflected throughout the life cycle of their products and services
  • Cooperate with category managers in the identification and definition of ESG/ Sustainability-related evaluation criteria for tenders
  • Actively participate in the Supplier selection and qualification process to foster the procurement of environmentally preferred products and raw materials
  • Identify and prioritize with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners potential initiatives to be deployed to increase sustainability of Recordati purchasing (e.g., plastic-free, carbon neutrality,…)
  • Oversee the implementation of launched sustainability initiatives strictly cooperating with other impacted functions within the Group Ind. Ops. structure
  • Define and monitor specific KPIs/ metrics to measure progress of the sustainable sourcing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher Engineering, Economics or equivalent program is required
  • Master in Environmental Engineering, related fields (preferred)
  • 2/3 years of experience in sustainable procurement
  • Experience in biotech / pharma industry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of ESG guidelines/ regulatory standards maintaining knowledge of validation and process control requirements mandated by regulatory bodies
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Good process and project management skills, organizational skills and agility to develop flexible approaches to changing conditions
  • Full Proficiency of English language (both oral and written)
